Welcome to Modern Coin Info BETA, your premier source
for information on modern United States coinage. We are currently
in our Beta testing stage. Over the next few weeks, expect to see
many, many more images added, some new coin categories, some new coin
issues, and some cosmetic changes. We're hammering out the kinks in
the site right now, so if you find any bugs, please let
us know!
About Modern Coin Info
ModernCoinInfo.com was launched in August, 2007 to become
the most comprehensive encyclopedia on modern American coinage. Here
you will find expertly researched information on every modern series,
including each state quarter, commemoratives, and bullion, accompanied
with high-resolution images, as well as mintage figures and NGC populations
for every date/mintmark, as well as many popular varieties. As new
coins are released, Modern Coin Info will be continuously updated.
Modern Coin Info Progress Report:
06/11/2008
We are still working on updating and uploading all the photographs we will be using on the site. An issue regarding how
our data is retrieved has been addressed, and as a result some of the programming on the site is being re-written to accomodate the new
method of pulling data. Some problems retrieving specific information may be noticed during this upgrade. We expect to clear this
issue byt he end of June and will have the site working as normal by then.
2008 brings us to the second year of First Spouse $10 Gold coins, the first of those was Elizabeth Monroe. Louisa Adams,
the wife of our sixth president John Q. Adams, is expected for release soon. Because neither Andrew Jackson nor Martin Van Buren had
spouses, classic U.S. coin designs will be used for the obverse of these coins. Collectors should be excited to see classic bust and
seated Liberty designs reused for the first time in over 130 years!
This year also brings the last of the 50 states of the statehood quarter program. Of course the bill passed that has
the Mint creating five territorial coins next year, but the initially planned set of coins will be complete this year.
